About Me

Who I AM?

I am an ICF certified  Life and Executive coach, writer, and blogger helping people to bring clarity in their thinking and shift in their being to reach their personal and professional potential.

I am also an experienced senior management professional with more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications industry in the finance and accounts vertical.

Life has been very kind to me. I was able to complete the dreams of my middle class parents of becoming an Engineer. I was lucky enough to clear the prestigious civil services examination of India. I worked in the Dept. of Telecommunications and then BSNL for a period of 28 years in Finance and Account vertical in various cities of India. What I realized in this journey was that World around you is the reflection of what you are. Your state of mind/ being is reflected back by the physical world. A shift in “being” is what is required to achieve what you want. A reflective person with a never ending desire to acquire knowledge about self and being a better human being I am on this journey to achieve this shift. My aim is to help people achieve this shift in their being so as to fulfil their dreams through Coaching.

Myth about Life Coaching

Coaches have the answers – As the client you decide what you want to focus on for each coaching session. As your coach, I support you to develop awareness, explore options and make conscious choices so we can cater specifically to your need.
Successful people don’t need coaches – People who are wishing to learn and grow often seek guidance, wisdom and support from experienced coaches. Coaching helps you have the confidence to show-up as your most authentic self.
Coaching is expensive – What is more expensive ” i did not” or ” I wish I had” at the end of your life?
The coach gives you advice – The coach facilitates the coaching experience and helps unlock your potential. Coach partners with you to unravel your thinking process and in doing so make you more aware about the issue / challenge at hand so that the solution emerges in the conversation.
You need to hire a coach for year- Hiring coach full time can be expensive, so hiring coach for short – term challenge or goal can be the most economical way to have coaching. Once you have achieved your goal then you can decide whether you would like to continue coaching or not.

u

Can I hire a life coach for a short-term, special project?

Yes. Some clients hire a life coach to help them achieve a specific objective or project. Many clients choose to continue working with their life coach after their initial goals are accomplished because there are even more interesting things to do!
u

What is the difference between coaching and counselling?

  • Counselling generally aims to solve problems by understanding what happened in the past. Coaching is almost exclusively future-focused.
  • To counsel means to give advice. Coaches do not give advice – instead they use various techniques to facilitate the process of an individual finding the best path for themselves.
u

Is coaching like mentoring or training?

No, training tells individuals what to do in certain circumstances. Mentoring often has some elements of coaching but differs in that the mentor also offers guidance based on their experience. If you get told what to do or how to solve a problem then it is not coaching.

u

Is coaching appropriate for me?

If you want a change of some sort – whether it is changing or creating a habit or behavior, improving your work-life balance, changing your career, improving your relationships, being more creative at work etc – AND you are ready to take steps to achieve it, then you will benefit from having a coach.

If you are looking for somewhere to simply vent about your past or your circumstances then you will likely waste your money on a coach.

u

How long will I need to work with a coach?

It depends on where you are, where you want to go, and how quickly you want to get there. Some clients are able to achieve their goals in as little as one to three months. Most often, clients stay with a coach anywhere from six to eighteen months. After clients realize their first goals, they often identify other areas they want to work on. The coaching relationship continues as long as there is benefit to the client.
